Back to Full Service

We are now back to almost full service with our three dentists, Dr Whelan, Dr Dziendziela and Dr Bas, together with Hygienist, Shauna back to their full schedules. Hygienist, Sinead will return in mid July and we are awaiting confirmation of a date for Dr Nayyar and Dr Crotty.

Along with National guidelines we have introduced social distancing measures across the practice. We ask all patients to familiarise themselves with these measures so we can work together to make our practice as safe as possible.
These measures include:
  • A phone call the day before your appointment to ask a few questions regarding your health status.
  • We ask you to call us when you arrive in the car park on 057 8662111. This helps us bring you into the building safely as reception can be a busy.
  • We ask you to minimise the belongings you bring with you.
  • We ask you to remove gloves and hand sanitise or wash your hands on arrival.
  • We will take your temperature on arrival.
  • You may be asked to wait for a brief period in our spacious waiting room. Chairs are distanced at well over 2 metres and there is plenty of natural ventilation. Chairs are sanitised after every use.
  • You will be shown from the waiting room to the surgery.
  • You will be asked to place your belongings in a sanitised box.
  • You will be asked to remove your mask if you are wearing one and to hand sanitise again before entering the surgery.
  • We ask you to make payment by card wherever possible.
Due to social distancing measures there is an increased pressure on available appointments. Please try and plan your visit well in advance.
There are several emergency appointments scheduled each day, however demand is high.
When you book your appointment you will be asked for a deposit. This applies to all patients whether you are a private patient or avail of state schemes. We ask for 30 hours notice should you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. If you do not attend, cancel or change your appointment within the 30 hour period your deposit will be retained by the dentist. By operating this scheme it has allowed us to minimise downtime for our surgeries and maintain our prices. We appreciate your understanding.

We are looking forward to continuing to welcome back our patients over the coming months.

Stay safe and keep washing your hands!

What should you do if you are experiencing a Dental emergency?

Call the surgery on 057 8662111 where our staff will ask a series of questions to assess your condition. If the number is not answered please leave a message and we will call you back. Alternatively email info@laoisdentist.ie . The phone is not manned all day, so it is advisable to call between 10am and 1pm.

Please note our staff have volunteered to continue this service to our patients, we are experiencing high volumes of calls which take time to assess, please be patient and understanding.

We are NOT operating a drop in clinic, DO NOT attend unless you have an appointment.

Christmas 2019

Well it's been a busy lead up to Christmas at Churchview Dental with the Christmas rush starting early this year! If you didn't manage to get booked in for your annual Check-up and Hygiene visit under your PRSI contributions your allowance is not lost! Be sure to book before the end of the year and with your permission, we can check your eligibility online; the Department will then hold your eligibility until the New Year.
Just in case you have a dental emergency over the Christmas break our opening hours are on the picture. If you need an appointment urgently leave a message on the answer machine and we'll get back to you when we are next in. Please be sure to leave your name and number clearly! Please call first so we can give you the best time to come. We don't like to keep you waiting.
Hoping you have a wonderful Christmas and a Prosperous 2019, we look forward to seeing you in the New Year (unless you have an emergency in the meantime!)

To note: We are having some issues with Eir and our phone lines, if you are using a Virgin phone, please use this number 057 8666746. Conversely, if you are a Vodafone customer you must use the main number 057 8662111!
We are in negotiation with Comreg as this anomaly was brought to our attention in mid October and is still not rectified or acknowledged by Eir. Apologies if this has effected you.

The year is coming to an end and it's time to remind everyone to use their well earned Free check up and reduced price clean, after all you've paid for it in your PRSI contributions!

In addition, dependent spouses are also eligible, however due to the GDPR regulations a form has to be completed and approved prior to treatment, this takes a couple of weeks. Forms are available at the dental practice for collection.
